ORIGINAL Brass ; Raised and styled as the Royal Malta Regiment of Militia on May 1, 1889, renamed The King's Own Royal Malta Regiment of Militia on June 1, 1903 and disbanded on April 14, 1921, it was reformed and officially titled 1st Btn The King's Own Malta Regiment in 1931, strengthened during the war years with the addition of a 2nd, 3rd and 10th battalions.
