Spain 1864 25 Céntimos de Real – Isabel II – Segovia Mint
A genuine 19th-century Spanish copper coin from the reign of Queen Isabel II, struck in 1864 at the historic Segovia mint, whose aqueduct mint mark is visible below the shield.
Obverse: Laureate portrait of Isabel II facing right, with the legend ISABEL 2ª POR LA G. DE DIOS Y LA CONST. and the date 1864 below.
Reverse: Crowned arms of Spain (castles, lions and the Bourbon fleur-de-lis centre) between laurel branches, with the legend REINA DE LAS ESPAÑAS and the denomination 25 CENT. DE REAL.
Condition: Circulated, with even wear and a natural brown patina. The legends, date and shield detail are clear. Please judge the condition from the photos, which show the actual coin you’ll receive.
This is a nice example of a pre-peseta Spanish coin from the decimal real period, and would make a good addition to any Spanish or world coin collection.
