Description
American cast-iron-front shelf clock, made circa 1850–1870, bearing the American Clock Company, Depot No. 3 Cortlandt Street, New York label. Possibly manufactured by the New Haven Clock Company. Extensively restored and refinished. The movement was dismantled, cleaned and lubricated during restoration and has subsequently run reliably for approximately six months. It keeps good time and strikes correctly on every hour.
