Cooling System: This engine is air-cooled, as indicated by the prominent finned cylinder head visible through the cutout in the blue shroud. The shroud is designed to direct air from a flywheel-mounted fan across these fins to dissipate heat.

Water Cooling: It does not require a water cooling system to run. However, in marine applications, the auxiliary equipment attached to it might need water, or the engine may have been fitted with a water-cooled exhaust to manage heat in a confined boat hull.

The large, bulbous component attached to the side (the "nose" of the machine) appears to be an inboard marine gearbox.
