Malta Healthcare Caterers Limited is seeking to recruit a Chef Tournant to join its kitchen team involved in the preparation of meals for the healthcare sector.
The position will be:
- reporting to the Sous Chef or Head Chef
- Based in the south of Malta
- on roster basis during days only - no evening / night shifts
- working in a state of the art kitchen fully equipped for industrial cook & chill
Main duties will include:
- Supports the Head Chef in the supervision of the kitchen departments and the quality of its products
- Supervise and train junior staff and be able to lead in the absence of the Head Chef
- Communicate and ensure execution of all standards and policies of the Company
- Administrative and office work related to the department and kitchen operation
- Ensuring all food is prepared fresh and is of the highest quality
- Ensuring all hygiene and food safety regulation regulations including HACCP are strictly observed
- Adhere strictly to company recipes, methods and SOP’s for all productions
- Monitor production forecasts against actual meal orders
- Ensuring supplies and inventories are readily available
- keeping wastages to bare minimum
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar position
- A hands-on approach to all operational aspects
- Excellent communication and computer skills
- Well organised and having strong administrative skills
