Translation Project Manager (Maltese Speaking)

We are seeking a Translation Project Manager to join our language services company. The candidate will focus on managing all projects in the most efficient manner to ensure client retention and satisfaction while maintaining strong and fair relationships with our translators and language professionals.

A successful candidate is a resourceful and motivated individual with excellent interpersonal, project management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

These are the core responsibilities that will be part of the candidate’s day-to-day work. The individual must also be resourceful and willing to help with other duties that new growth opportunities may bring with them.

- Manage a small team of translators;
- Manage incoming projects and deliver projects to client’s expectations in terms of cost, quality and timelines.
- Define and manage the project workflow.
- Compile quotes and proposals for clients.
- Negotiate with suppliers and clients.
- Prepare projects for translation and delivery.
- Split projects into multiple tasks and monitor the status of each task closely to manage project risks.
- Be prompt in answering queries from clients and language professionals on projects and tasks.
- Maintain translation assets, including translation memories and termbases.
- Lead the efforts of sourcing and onboarding suitable translators and language experts for projects.
- Identify inefficiencies and proactively improve company processes.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree.
- Maltese as your native language.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Maltese and English.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, numeracy and IT skills.
- Strong project management skills, including resource scheduling, prioritization of tasks, negotiation, anticipating issues and manage risk, time management and the ability to handle several projects concurrently.
- Assertive, personable and approachable, both with customers and the entire translation team.
- Capable of meeting strict deadlines and working under pressure.
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Passionate about delivering the best possible customer service.
- Proactive in highlighting ways of improvement.
- Ambitious, highly motivated and an attitude to get things done.
- Aptitude for learning new things and technologies fast.

- Experience in the language services industry would be considered an asset but not required.
- Understanding of the translation process would be considered an asset but not required.
- Experience with CAT tools and the latest translation technologies would be considered an asset but not required.
- Experience in establishing new client relationships and growing existing client accounts would be considered an asset but not required.
