Part-time Operations Coordinator

We are looking for a competent Operations Coordinator to oversee and facilitate the service chain operation of our company. The candidate will be the one to coordinate personnel and processes to achieve an optimized service chain. The ideal candidate needs to possess great communication and negotiation skills and be well-versed in supply management principles and practices. The ideal candidate will have great record-keeping abilities and a customer-oriented approach.

Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and monitor day-to-day operations through efficient dispatching of cabs and drivers according the workload
• Ensure that schedule adherence by employees is consistently achieved through continuous monitoring
• Be responsible in ensuring that company assets (cabs) are maintained in good working order and that communication channels are used effectively to minimise shortcomings and make the service more efficient
• Facilitate the transportation of customers from one destination to another, while at the same time making the best use of resources available
• Prepare accurate reports for Upper Management when required
• Utilize logistics IT to optimize procedures
• Collaborate on and follow company policies, practices and procedures in order to maintain internal controls

Qualifications

Qualifications & Competencies:
• At least 2 years of experience working in a similar position
• Previous managerial or supervisory experience would be considered an asset
• Ability to work variable shift patterns, including nights, weekends and public holidays
• Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
• Ability to manage and support a team
• Ability to multi-task and make fast decisions
• Ability to handle unexpected problems and provide solutions to challenges
• Excellent computer skills (experience with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
• Basic knowledge of Maltese roads is a must
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); other languages will be considered an asset
• Excellent telephone skills
• Leading by setting a good example of behaviour
• Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
• Being proactive in searching for ways to improve business processes and procedures
The selected candidate will be provided with full on-the-job training upon commencement of employment.
