Compliance Technician

• Monitoring of regulatory developments both at EU and local level and interpreting new regulations that are applicable in the funds and investment services industry
• Conducting on-site and off-site reviews
• Identifying and assessing compliance risk and proposing manners how the risk identified can be mitigated
• Development of an annual compliance monitoring plan for the clients
• Identifying any internal deficiencies and weaknesses and recommending actions to be taken to address accordingly
• Following up to ensure that the necessary changes have been implemented in a timely manner
• Ensuring that the onsite compliance reviews are carried out according to plan
• Identify and propose IT systems and operational processed for the clients as part of their mitigation efforts to reduce compliance risk
• Drafting of policies and procedures for the clients
• Liaising and assisting clients on an ongoing basis on matters relating to compliance, including the preparation of Compliance Reports
• Occupying the role of ‘Compliance Officer’ in terms of applicable regulations
Qualifications
• You must possess a minimum MQF Level 6 qualification in law, finance, compliance, or equivalent
• A minimum of 2 years previous experience within the financial services industry is a requirement for the position
Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and preferably in Spanish
• Strong analytical and time management skills
• Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure, with minimum supervision
• Computer literate, especially with the use of Microsoft Office Package
