Position reports to Bodyshop Supervisor

Job Purpose is to repair vehicle body panels ready for spraying.

The main responsibilities will include:

? Reviews damage reports, prepares or reviews repair cost estimates, and plans work to be performed.
? Carry out repairs and alignments using body jigs
? Repairs vehicles bodies by removing, fabricating, attaching, aligning parts and welding into place as per estimate and according to manufacturer standards.
? Removes & Refit damaged sections of vehicles for replacement by using specialist tools
? Prepare and fill panels for primer
? Communicates additional requests with the Body Shop Supervisor
? Maintains communication with Estimators and Supervisor on status of vehicle.
? Completes all work according to the applicable manufactured standards and times
? Assists in all other areas of the Body Shop as needed.
? Maintains assigned workspace in an organized and clean manner.
? Maintains high ethical standards in all actions.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual should possess:

? A high school diploma or equivalent; mechanical certification desired;
? At least two (2) years of automotive body repair experience;
? Knowledge of automotive machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repairs, and maintenance.
? Ability to operate manual transmission; pay attention to detail; determines cause of operating errors on a range of makes and models and decides what to do about it; determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do the job; read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; and reads and comprehends instructions and information in the English language;
? Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.
