Taxify Malta

In accordance with Malta transport law, cab service can only be offered with cars bearing Y-plates, driven by professional cab drivers in possession of a TAG-license.

If you are not in possession of a TAG-license yet, then you may contact Hose Agius on +356 7970 7902 to register for the course. In order to obtain the TAG-license, you will need to have the Maltese residence card as well.

If you already have the TAG-license, then please contact us, directly via email in the description to set up an appointment for an interview. I will gladly explain the recruitment process to you and arrange an interview with our fleet manager Dylan to walk you through the training session in order to start working. Please only contact us if you already have the TAG-license.

You could be working as self-employed with your own car (must be Y-plate, not more than 10 years old, in good condition and owned by a garage with a special permit) or you could be hired by one of our partners and they will then provide a car for you to work with on a commission basis. Taxify does not rent out cars, but we do have several co-operation partners and we will be able to assist new drivers with finding a solution in this matter.

Other requirements include 3 years of driving experience on Maltese roads, good English, good knowledge about smartphone-usage.

Qualifications

In order to become a Driver-Partner with Taxify in Malta, you will need to provide the following documents:

European category B Driver’s license
Driver’s TAG-license
Maltese residence card or other European Union government-issued identification card
Police conduct certificate
If you will be registering to drive on the platform, you will also need to provide the following details (these can be your own or that of your fleet manager):

VAT-number
Email address
Other requirements include:

Proficient English speaking skills
Be at least 21 years of age
Have at least 3 years of driving experience on Maltese roads
Have knowledge of smartphone usage

Once your initial application has been accepted, you will be invited to the Taxify Malta office for an interview. We will then arrange training for you to ensure that you know how to use the Taxify Driver application efficiently and provide quality service.
