We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Sprayer to join our automotive repair workshop.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and spray painting vehicles and vehicle panels to a high professional standard, ensuring an excellent finish and accurate colour matching. The role requires strong attention to detail, efficiency, and a thorough understanding of automotive painting techniques, materials, and equipment.
Candidates should have previous experience working with automotive spray-painting equipment, paint mixing and colour-matching systems, spray booths, sanding and preparation equipment, and finishing and polishing tools.
Qualifications
Main Responsibilities
- Inspecting vehicle panels and identifying the preparation and painting work required.
- Preparing vehicle surfaces prior to painting, including sanding, cleaning, degreasing, filling minor imperfections, and applying primers where required.
- Masking and protecting areas of vehicles that are not to be painted.
- Mixing and preparing paints, primers, clear coats, and other materials in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Accurately matching vehicle colours and paint finishes.
- Applying primer, base coat, colour coat, and clear coat using professional spray-painting equipment.
- Spray painting complete vehicles or individual vehicle panels to a consistently high standard.
- Ensuring an even, smooth, and professional paint finish without runs, overspray, colour variations, or other imperfections.
- Inspecting completed work and carrying out any necessary finishing, polishing, or correction work.
- Maintaining spray guns, spray booths, preparation equipment, and other tools in clean and proper working condition.
- Managing materials efficiently and minimizing unnecessary paint and product waste.
- Planning and organising assigned work to ensure vehicles are completed within required deadlines.
- Working efficiently with other members of the workshop team.
- Ensuring all work complies with applicable industry specifications and quality standards.
- Correctly using personal protective equipment and following all safety procedures relating to automotive paints, chemicals, and spraying equipment.
The ideal candidate will have strong practical experience in automotive spray painting and vehicle refinishing, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to consistently produce high-quality work within a busy workshop environment.
