HR & Accounts Clerk

As a company we operate a diverse portfolio of established restaurants and guesthouses. We are looking for an organized and reliable HR & Accounts Clerk to join our core administrative team and help keep our back-office operations running smoothly.
The Role

In this role, you will provide vital support to the administration and accounting department. Your primary focus will be managing employee payroll, handling employment contracts, and assisting with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks for our growing team.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Management: Accurately calculate and process employee wages on time, including overtime, bonuses, and leave balances.

Employee Contracts & Onboarding: Draft employment contracts and ensure all new hires are properly onboarded.

Regulatory Compliance: Handle all Jobsplus engagements and terminations, ensuring full compliance with DIER regulations and Maltese employment law.

HR Administration: Maintain highly organized and confidential employee records, managing sick leave and vacation leave requests.

Accounting Support: Assist with basic accounting duties, including data entry, processing invoices, bank reconciliations, and managing petty cash.

General Office Support: Provide day-to-day administrative assistance to the management team as required.

Qualifications

Proven experience in an administrative, HR, payroll, or accounts clerk role.

Strong understanding of Maltese employment law, payroll processing, and Jobsplus procedures.

Basic understanding of accounting principles; experience with local accounting/payroll software is highly considered.

Excellent organizational skills and a high degree of attention to detail.

Ability to handle sensitive employee and financial information with strict confidentiality.

Strong communication skills in both English and Maltese.

Previous experience working in the hospitality or catering sector is a plus, but not required.
