Assistant Shop Manager

Once Upon A Time

We are seeking to recruit a dynamic and highly motivated individual for the posts of an Assistant Shop Manager to work on full-time basis.

The Assistant Shop Manager is responsible to help in the management of the sales team. Working very closely with the Shop manager, and oversees the team and the Outlet in the absence of the manager. Tasks involves assisting in training and supporting employees, assigning of and involvement in various sales and shop duties

The Shop Assisting Manager will be expected to be available to work, from Monday to Friday between 9.00am - 7.00pm and Saturday 9.00am - 2.00pm (Total of 40hrs Full-Time, with the possibility to work a maximum of 10hrs Overtime per week)



Main tasks and responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations, including: sales and financial targets, displays are kept clean and presentable and ensuring that the outlet is meeting and exceeding operational standards.

Monitor and analyse, sales performance, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth and increase store profitability.

Maintains excellent product knowledge and manage local purchasing activities.

Lead and motivate a team of staff members by providing guidance, training, and support to achieve sales targets and provide outstanding customer service, whilst appraise staff performance and provide them with constant feedback so they can improve and grow within the company.

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication among staff members.

Ensures that weekly roster promotes equal and fair distribution of work. The said roster needs to have optimum levels of staff availability and cost effectiveness.

Refers to customer’s queries and complaints in a timely and efficient manner.

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.

Qualifications

Educational and skill requirements:


Have a good standard of education.

Previous experience in shop retail management role.

Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.

Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with both staff, and customers.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address operational issues in a timely and effective manner.

Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel applications

Is fluent in the English language, both verbal and written. (Capability to understand/speak Maltese language is considered an asset)

Must be an EU resident or have a valid working Visa.

Having a valid driving License will be considered an asset
