As a Restaurant Cashier, you play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant by providing exceptional customer service and handling financial transactions accurately. You are often the first and last point of contact for our customers, making your role critical in creating a positive dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
Provide information on menu items, specials, and promotions.
Answer customer questions and assist with any special requests or dietary preferences.
Ensure customers feel valued and attended to throughout their visit.
Order Processing:
Receive and process customer orders, either in person or via phone.
Ensure accuracy in taking orders, including special instructions and modifications.
Enter orders into the restaurant's POS (Point of Sale) system.
Verify order accuracy with customers before finalizing transactions.
Payment Handling:
Accept payments from customers, which may include cash, credit cards, debit cards, or digital payment methods.
Calculate and provide change accurately.
Ensure that all transactions are recorded in the POS system.
Follow restaurant policies and procedures regarding handling cash and closing shifts.
Upselling:
Suggest additional items or upsell combos to increase sales.
Promote loyalty programs, discounts, and special offers to enhance customer satisfaction.
Maintain Cleanliness:
Keep the cashier area and surrounding workstations clean and organized.
Ensure menus and promotional materials are well-maintained and readily available.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the kitchen staff and servers to coordinate order preparation and delivery.
Communicate customer requests and special instructions to the kitchen team.
Compliance:
Adhere to all local and state regulations regarding food safety, hygiene, and alcohol service.
Follow the restaurant's policies and procedures, including opening and closing protocols.
