The Duties & Responsibilities of the Woodworker / Installer include but are not limited to:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, or design plans to understand project requirements.
• Selecting appropriate materials based on project specifications and desired aesthetics.
• Measuring, marking, and cutting wood pieces to the required dimensions using tools such as saws, routers, and chisels.
• Assembling wood components through techniques like gluing, nailing, screwing, or doweling.
• Applying finishes, such as stains, paints, or varnishes, to enhance the appearance and durability of the wood.
• Installing finished products, including furniture, cabinets, doors, and trim, at the project site ensuring proper fit, alignment, and functionality.
• Making necessary adjustments or repairs to fix any defects or issues.
• Collaborating with clients, architects, or contractors to understand project expectations and provide input or suggestions as needed.
• Adhering to safety guidelines and using protective equipment to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintaining and cleaning tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Keeping track of inventory and ordering necessary wood and hardware supplies.
Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Proficiency in cutting, shaping, and joining wood, along with knowledge of woodworking tools and techniques.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Experience in installing and fitting wood components.
• Ability to troubleshoot and pay attention to detail.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and proper equipment handling.
• Good physical fitness for lifting and maneuvering wood pieces.
• Effective communication skills for working with a team.
• Positive and approachable manner, displaying a positive attitude
• Good knowledge in English
