Mechanic

B&B Construction Ltd.

The successful candidate will be involve working alongside experienced Engineer and Technician.
Responsibilities

• Assist Mechanic Engineer with basic duties, paying close attention to finish tasks correctly, following safety guidelines and regulations.
• General mechanical and technical duties such as diagnosing, repairing and carrying out electrical and mechanical fault finding on automotive vehicles, heavy plant machinery.
• Must have a working of basic electrical, troubleshoot and repair sophisticated machinery (such as electrical, pneumatic or mechanical systems).
• Ensure that all vehicles and equipment are thoroughly checked and examined
• Identify and gather the tools needed before commencing a task to complete the job at hand
• Make sure all tools and supplies will put up correctly before leaving the job site so everything can be ready for use the next day.
• Ensure organisation of work areas and tools at all times
• Inspect electrical systems and mechanical condition of the equipment and components to identity hazards, defects and any needs for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment and appliances
• Assist with cleaning and organizing facilities
• Proactively schedule maintenance to maximise service levels
• Support of all production electrical and mechanical equipment
• Remove and replace parts
• Examining various systems within vehicles and Trucks to diagnose problems
• Inspecting trucks, crane and other heavy equipment for proper performance
• Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to the management
• Repairing damaged equipment parts.
• Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty vehicles.
• Cleaning and servicing of machine attachments like winches, blades, and side booms.
• Performing major repair work when necessary.
• work on the repair, tuning, maintenance and testing of a range of heavy vehicles
• inspect engines, gearboxes, electrical and electronic systems and hydraulics to identify faults for repair
• repair and reassemble parts, and test them to make sure they are working properly
• carry out routine servicing of vehicles both on-site and in a workshop
• use a variety of tools and welding equipment, electrical testing equipment and lifting equipment
• hand-fitting or machining processes to replace or repair faulty parts.


Key skills

• Ability to lift heavy machinery.
• Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment.
• Good communication skills to explain problems


Working Hours

You would normally work a standard number of hours, Monday to Friday. Overtime is common including Saturdays.

Qualifications

Experience

Minimum of three years working in general factory mechanical machinery, plant & equipment
Extensive practical experience in a similar role.

Qualifications

degree from a technical college in mechanical or the equivalent.
A Valid and clean driving EU or International Driving licence
