About the job:

This is a job to support a nice family and elderly Norwegian couple (my parents), who live in a beautiful house with some land outside of Rome (Bracciano area). Its perfect for someone with a young and small family, who is looking to settle on mainland Europe and Italy in particular.

What I'm after is a reliable, caring, and hard-working individual, who can work both outside (4 days) and in the home (one day) 6.5 hours/day for 5 days a week. The remuneration package involves EUR900/month, insurances, and free accommodation (and bills covered) in a nice studio flat (about 40 sqm with own entrance, bathroom and equipped kitchen).

The work involves gardening and some maintenance of the property (cutting branches, fixing fences, etc), and once a week cleaning the house.

Occasional shopping for my parents is involved, which requires you to have a driver's licence or know how to drive (and we'll help you get the licence). There may also be some driving to medical appointments and airport to pick up family, involved too.

We're after someone who will be interested in a long term arrangement, although the contract is renewed yearly. We'll also facilitate a working visa for Italy if needed.

Start date would be in July or August 2022. Contract duration is 12 months renewable each year.

Your profile:

You are already in Malta.

You're reliable and hard working, discreet, and independent, able to do many different tasks and happy to work outside and within the home.

You speak English and are prepared to learn Italian, and have a driver's licence (or are willing to qualify for one in Italy).

You have a basic education and strong values and respect for elders. You understand and have experienced countryside living and work.

What we offer:

The package given above. Weekends off and some holidays.

After six months, if the fit is good, your spouse and child (we don't think there's room for more) can join you and we'll help if visas are needed.

About the location and property:

The location is adjacent to a nature reserve close to the lake Bracciano. The nearest village (with schools for children) is Bassano-Romano (15 minutes by car) and Travis Travignano Romano (20 minutes by car). Rome and the Fiumicino Airport are 60 minutes drive away.

The area has some wildlife and the property is 3.5 hectares. The house is around 300 sqm. The studio flat is part of the house and has it's own entrance.
