2 euro commemorative coin of Vatican 2017 UNC

€ ---

Description

Brilliant 2 euro commemorative coin of Vatican 2017 uncirculated dedicated to the 1950th anniversary of the martyrdom of St. Peter and St. Paul.

Paul the Apostle, commonly known as Saint Paul, was an apostle (though not one of the Twelve Apostles) who taught the gospel of the Christ to the first century world. He founded several churches in Asia Minor and Europe and took advantage of his status as both a Jew and a Roman citizen to minister to both Jewish and Roman audiences.

Saint Peter was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ, leaders of the early Christian Great Church. The ancient Christian churches all venerate Peter as a major saint and as the founder of the Church of Antioch and the Roman Church, but differ in their attitudes regarding the authority of his present-day successors.

The design shows St. Peter, St. Paul and their symbols (keys and sword respectively). At the top is the inscription "CITTÀ DEL VATICANO", in semicircumference. At the bottom, in semicircumference, the inscription "1950º DEL MARTIRIO DEI SANTI PIETRO E PAOLO".
