Brilliant 2 euro commemorative coin of Italy 2017 uncirculated commemorating the 400th Anniversary of the Completion of the Basilica of San Marco in Venice. The motive was announced on 22 December 2016 by the director of the Italian mint, Adriano Balma.

The motif is composed of an image showing the facade of the Basilica of San Marco in Venice. Below, in an arched line that fits to the external edge of the coin, the inscription "SAN MARCO" and on the right the initials "LDS" of the designer.

The Patriarchal Cathedral Basilica of Saint Mark is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Venice in northern Italy. It is the most famous of the city's churches and one of the best known examples of Italo-Byzantine architecture. Originally it was the chapel of the Doge, and has only been the city's cathedral since 1807, when it became the seat of the Patriarch of Venice.
